to
give the banner? I think if you set the width and height attributes for
the
banner image the page will load around it, and it will eventually appear
when the ad server gets around to it.

Subject: [javascript] Problem with banner ad not loading
Hello! Could you please help me with a problem I have with banner ads. I
am creating a website that has a banner ad located on it. It has a
problem,
however, in that the whole webpage will hang up if the banner doesn't load
properly. For example, if an advertisement is supposed to be coming from
another server, and that other server is down, then my entire webpage will
hang up while it is waiting for this banner ad to load. I have been trying
to write a javascript that will only allow 10 seconds for a banner ad to
load. If the banner ad doesn't load in that time frame, then the script
will load the next ad's URL from the list, (I have several different URLs
to
choose from, held in an array). It will, therefore, stop trying to load
the
unavailable ad, and will simply move on to the next banner ad URL in the
array. The whole page, therefore, will not hang up while waiting for the
one ad to load.
I would certainly appreciate any advice or ideas that you could give me in
regards to this problem! I thank you very much!
Mark
