pro_java thread: HTTP tunnelling

Message #1 by "rghsiva" <rghsiva@e...> on Fri, 22 Dec 2000 06:08:40 +0530
is two out of three ok?

tunneling is where you go via a proxy and/or a firewall and it is used in
RMI. The proxy/firewall protect the client from potentially destructive
content/requests and tunneling is a technique for allowing you to form
network communications across the internet while enforcing security.

Subject: [pro_java] HTTP tunnelling

Hi
Can anyone explain to me what HTTP tunnelling is and how it is done and
what are the specific uses of HTTP tunnelling.
Thanks in advance
