No, updating a local DB server should not be a
problem if u r using a Java Application, if its an
applet, it will be difficult, i.e. security will come
into picture, otherwise not.
For printing, I have never tried myself but please
visit www.javaworld.com where there are atleast a
couple of articles on how to print from Java
applications. You'll have to search for them on the
site, I don't have the exact link.
