hi,

   I have bought your book

               Professional JSP,
               ISBN 81-7366-211-8.

I am a software programmer currently working on JSPs. I have readthe
book, and found it extremely helpful. I have a question though, i have
tried to get it answered from various other resources but without any
success.
I am in the process of converting a web application from ASPs to JSPs.
Is there a way in JSPs using which i can call a serverside function from
the client side? i.e. using javascript for example. In ASPs this is done
using a PageObject. Is there any substitute for a PageObject in JSPs? i
know this is possible in asps u can refer to the following links:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/devprods/vs6/vinterdev/vidref/vihowexecutingserverscriptremotely.htm

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/devprods/vs6/vinterdev/vidref/victlpageobjectcontrol.htm

If you are not in a position to answer this question and you know the
right person to answer it, please forward this to him/her.

thanks
supriya.
