Hello,
I don't think I've ever had a chance to comment on a book directly before
but the introduction of Professional JSP 2nd Edition states that this forum
may even be monitored by the authors of the book so I'm leaving this post.
First I have to say that the first couple of hundred pages of the book were
set out very nicely and were easy to follow. I appreciate that. But
Chapter 6 is a whole different story. Not the concepts. The concepts are
fine. It's the fact that the authors neglected to include and explain the
source code to several things. Now I've downloaded the source from the
website and I can get this figured out on my own but I'm one of those
strange people who expects that when a book creates an example I'll be able
to follow along with the entire thing and type it all in myself and get it
up and running. That's obviously not the case in Chapter 6. Whole classes
are ignored.
Anyway, as I mentioned this is not a question. I'll be able to figure out
how to make the example work. I just wanted to mention that if you ever
get around to writing Professsional JSP 3rd Edition... Include all the
code!
