Hi
Well, I don't understand how you could lose all your data on the other hard
drive.
If you mounted the other hard drive, transferred all your files and properly
unmounted it - you should be fine. Could you tell more specific about steps
you've done.
By the way, sorry to tell you that - there is no 'UNDELETE' utility in
Linux. If you erased your data, it's gone. Of course, you can immediately
after erasing a file open your hard drive as a raw device and try to save
erased data manually if you know were to look, but it is pain, believe me.
Sincerely yours,

Subject: [pro_linux_programming] Help I've made a boo boo
hi all,
I having been using linux for a few months now. so i know a little
bit. me thought!!
Today i transfered all my files onto a spare harddrive that i had
mounted as /home
Great! all going well
Powered down and removed hard drive to be keep in safe place. Then
proceed to install a fresh copy of SuSE 8.0 on my machine
All still going well!!
Got that to how i wanted it. and decided to transfer my files back
on. So powered down and added other hard drive.
Powered Up and went into partioner and reasigned harddrive to /home
Guess what when i mounted the drive now everything is gone.
Help i need it back!!
Now when i was using windoze i would normally just run norton disk
doctor and rebuild the partion but havent a clue what to do under
Linux
Any help!
