You know, I had a little trouble with book too.

I gotta say, I've got Professional PHP Programming(the
Begginning one didn't come out yet), and it's NOT
really organized that well.
(You'll definitely learn;it is a good book,just not
VERY good)

It's a pretty good book with some practical examples,
but there's points where they don't do everything in
order...and even though you CAN easily(sometimes)
figure out what's wrong...it shouldn't be written that
way.  
And when it comes to later in the book, they just give
a lot of code with barely any explanation.  SWEET
SWEET examples, but not enough explanation of HOW it
works.

I've also got BEGINNING ASP 3.0, also by WROX and it's
written 100% better, including the INSTALLATION
section.  I'm studying both....
