Yeah, I know it's an old buzzword... but we need something more intrusive
than email -- something that "pops up". On revisiting Jabber, it looks like
the ticket.

Sort of need to be more specific. "push" technology was a big buzzword 5
years ago and it sort of incorporated a lot of different things... what are
you exactly trying to do? If all you want to do is send "technical
messgaes", email would be a lot easier.
