Even with its problems (alleged or otherwise), its share of Apache module usage
is on the increase (according to
http://www.securityspace.com/s_survey/data/man.200104/apachemods.html). I'd say
that means _someone_ is finding it useful (especially since Apache is ALSO on
the rise (so PHP is grabbing a bigger share of a bigger share of the web server
pie)).
