printer and scanners ( I mean two independent units,
but the scanner reads what the printer prints out )

Well, step 1 is to have a bar-code reader device.
These are available as small as a pen, or all the way up to the vertical
scanners used in grocery stores.
Once you pick the device with the price/capabilities you want, THEN you get
to write code to the specifications of that device
