the SHFileOperation API (in shell32.dll) does the job, but it is not easy to
use it in vb. Look at the knowledge base article Q151799
If you want to roll your own dialog, you can find all the animated icons
(avi's files)  in the vb distribution package (the folder depends on the
installation, in my case is "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual
Studio\Common\Graphics\Videos"
