I am really glad it worked.
As far as copyright, I just modified code taken from the internet- there are
plenty of ping computer examples- until I made it working. It is just
a "how to make VB use of this API call..."
Thanks to Bruce McKinney and his book Hardcore Visual Basic, where
I learned everything I know about API. 
Go on and use it!
