pro_vb thread: RE: The weirdest error message

Thanks for the tip.

Are you refering to registering it in the Registry Editor? If yes, where
should I register it under?

Specific steps in doing that would help. Thanks a lot.

Mark

Mark,

Here is a longshot.

I recently had a similar problem.

Try registering this file: psdcscm.dll

In a default installation it's located in:

	c:\program files\microsoft sql server\80\tools\binn\psdcscm.dll

Hi guys,

I am back. Thanks for all the directions, but unfortunately both Donald's
and Candyin's solution did not work. Both of you seem to be approaching this
from the connection type. However, either forcing it to use TCP/IP in the
connection string did not work, or the machine that works and the machine
that does not work have the same connection type setting.

Also, I want to stress again that some ADO's work fine in that program,
only when it hits a certain ADO the error occurs. And this only happens on
some of the PC's.

We have also checked the problematic machine for network speed. It turns
out that machine is merely 20% slower then a non-problematic machine. This
does not seem to answer the question, either.

So what could it be??

Mark
