pro_vb thread: Too many monkeys and not enough temporal databases!

2 Things....relating to the Sqrt(n) stuff by Daniel et al

Firstly: As you said, any power x^y such as 3^2 or 3^3 etc ie squared or
cubed can be reversed by x^(1/y) but as far as your program to calculate
roots goes this doesn't really help because 9 times itself half-a-time is
the same problem as finding the root. The Pow function or whatever it's
syntax is is still cheating! So back to your pondering!

Personally I agree with Padgett that such tasks prey on the minds of the
Sci-Fi overdosed. But I prefer the works of Steven Hawkin and wish to
develop a VB program that has built in time travel functionality. Anyone
know if there's a .NET timetravel object hidden away somewhere!

Secondly: WHAT'S WITH ALL THE MONKEYS!????

There's you claiming to be monkey boy then someone drags up a URL
http://www.azillionmonkeys.com/qed/sqroot.html - is this some kind of
goverment conspiracy!? Is George Bush really a primate in a suit?

FINALLY! Temporal Databases.

My other pet pondering is temporal databases. Anyone know any good
resources on temporal databases? Truly temporal db's I mean! I've spoken
to apparent DB experts and they mumble, look at their watch tell me
they're a good idea and then somehow fade to black. Neat trick if you can
do it. I know that if I really want to I can implement the whole shooting
match myself but it seems like overkill if there's easier ways.

Cheers,

Stuart Anderson.
