I made an earlier post regarding this subject.

You can use the MSComm object to "query" your modem
with a list of commands that usually start with ATI.

How can I, using a VB program, perform exactly what windows does in 

"Control Panel"  --> "Modem" --> "Diagnostics" -->  "More Info"
