pro_vb thread: RE: Setup error. PDW Users Please Read

I had been using PDW for quite some time, but now that the Windows Installer
is the preferred method of deployment we decided to buy InstallShield
Developer 7.

It is not cheap, BUT it is worth every penny, and using the windows
installer gives us installation capability that we never had before. The
learning curve is a bit steep but again... Worth It

We develop all our applications internally and distribute to a bunch of
desktops. SMS is difficult to use and Marimba is expensive. With a bit of
coding and a little ingenuity our apps now UPDATE THEMSELVES.

This has saved more than the cost of the product.

If you can figure out how to work it into your budget, do it you will not be
sorry!

Subject: [pro_vb] Setup error.

Hi all

The setup program (created by the package and deployment wizard) terminates
with the following error:
"The file '....\Temp\msftqws.pdw\$(DLLSelfRegisterEx)' could not be
registered because it was not found". At the time the error occurs, the
folder msftqws.pdw is empty. Recreating the setup package was of no use.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Vlassis
