pro_vb thread: RE: Converting a Printed manual to a Electronic Manual

Message #1 by "John Ruff" <papparuff@c...> on Fri, 31 May 2002 23:14:36 -0700
Due to problems with keeping the most current version of procedures on the
plant floor, I would like to convert our current printed manuals with an
electronic manual. I was wondering if anyone had experience with doing this
or knew of a good source of information on how to do this? The current
(400+) procedures are MS Word documents. I need a method for the user to be
able to select, view and print the correct version of any individual
procedure, without being able to alter the document. These documents
contain text, drawings, pictures an inserted objects. I would like to build
this project using VB to manage the system and display the procedures,
Access or SQL for the individual documents information and Word to create &
edit the documents.

Thank you in advance for your help in the matter.
