OK -
Sorry, but with the further description you've given I don't think I can
be of much help. I had thought I may be able to help a little bit, as at
a telecom corp. I used to work for we converted from VB/Access to
VB/Oracle to Java/C++/Oracle to Smalltalk/Gemstone and then back to
Java/Oracle again.
All for the same application.
I don't want to name the corporation, but let's just say they recently
withdrew a product line that was supposed to provide high speed
data/voice/video over a single line to a customer's house.
Given my earlier statements, I just can't understand why it turned out
to be so expensive and an eventual failure.
Good luck on your hunt!

Subject: [pro_vb] RE: C++ Serialization with VB?

extensive experience at what you are describing, let me ask a question:
Are you saying that you want to move from an "objectified" DB to a =3D
relational one, and rewrite the app in VB from C++?
Thanks, and I don't care how well loved anyone is, if they can help! :)
No, the application saves the populated form object through C++
serialization. The users can either create a new (form) or open an
existing one. once they save the form they can reopen it fully
populated
without ever touching a database.
