Thanks for that.
However, users cannot connect via the VB app unless they have the relevant
driver installed. In this case they need the Oracle driver/client
components. Its not feasable to get everyone to install the Oracle Client
software.
Is there a way to automatically update an Access Table with data from an
Oracle table (eg. as with DTS in SQL Server?) This way then users wont need
drivers.
Thanks
Niall

In Access 2000, when you are linking the table, it has a check box that
reads "Save Password." Check that and it won't ask again.

Subject: [pro_vb] Linked Tables
Hi
Is there a way of preventing my VB app from asking for a password when
it
tries to access records from an ODBC linked table in Access. The linked
tabel in Access links to an Oracle database. This works fine but when I
want
the VB app to read from the Oracle linked table then it asks for a
password.
Obviously the user doesnt like this.
Maybe I should import the table into Access and try a way to keep it
uptodate using DTS or something?
Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks
Niall
