I met this problem before. For rdbms such as sql server, I do not think
creating db on client side is reasonable. This is the job of dba and you may
damage the system if you do it. If you make it flexible, you need much
effort(for example, disk space, logins, and so forth). So I just ask the
users' dbas to create the db and my app creates the structure.
I think adox is already in MDAC 2.5 or higher(???)

you are rigth...
we are migrating all the program to ado..
but ado doesn't have a way to create a database on run time...
i found a way using adox, that have a create method, but now i have troubles
deploying it... msadox.dll seems to have some dependencys i cann't find...
