verify the classpath where are working the tomcat. all class must be at web-inf /classes for servlet

I have no problem with servlets using only one class but when I try to use 
examples from "Professional Java Server Programming" with more than one 
class it gives me a "resource not available" error. 
Any light you can shed on this problem would be hreatly appreciated.
