tan(90) means the opposite = hypotenuse = +/- infnity
tan(180) means opposite = adjacent = 0

So tan moves from infinity at 90 deg through to 0 at 180 deg, and back to
infinity at 270 deg

Sorry for the error...should be me that's looking in a maths text!
