I think your talking about an Applicant Tracking System (ATS),
erexchange.com sells research reports on this, if you don't want to buy
their research report you can post a question on their forum about
ATS's, you can probably get an idea of who the players are in this area
by doing a search for Applicant Tracking System or ATS on google.
If you wish to develop this yourself you can probably check out some
demos and stuff of such systems.

Can anyone point me toward a good process that would encompass the
hiring
and termination process? I would like to not have to develop this from
the ground up.
Our employees have pieces of equipment and vehicles as well. It just
seems that a supervisor should have the ability to see at a glance the
current status of any employee at any one time and then e-mail the
appropriate HR people for notification.
