beginning_java thread: Re: how to write String in the center of the screen??

Dear Chanoch ,

I've seen this difficulty since I tried to execute a command like a
ClrScr of pascal that clears the screen. I saw that I should wrote a
lot of code to do just this function and so I've given up ! :-)

BTW, I would like to do just this simple task of write a string at the
center of the screen...but no matter...I think I'll give up too.

Thanks anyway

Cheers
Izaias Lisboa

This varies widely so its not worth doing. Its pretty hard to do console
programming in Java if the UI matters - I recommend a language called C - I
dont know if you've heard of it ;) Seriously, though - dont bother with
Console programming with Java.

screen??

Hi dudes!

Ineed to know a way to write String in the center of the screen...It
looks really simple but my tests has not succeded so fine...take a look
at my code:

    static void stringCentro(){
        for(int x=0;x<=20;x++)System.out.print(" ");
        System.out.print("STRING DE EXEMPLO");
    }

The string can't have a position exactlly from the center of the screen...
I wonder where is this position of the center of the screen.
Thanks in Advance.
