Here is the simpliest fix to this problem. I had problems with it at first
even using my allaire homesite program. It didn't allow me to save files
with a .inc or .php extension. So what I did is I created an association.
How you do this is click star-> settings->folder options. then click the
tab that says file types. Then create a new type of file extension and
associate it with whichever program you would like. Whether it be notepad
or wordpad or word or whatever it is.
Hope this was helpful for you.

I have tried saving the file phpinfo.php in Notepad (Windows98 O/S)
and even when I select All files from the Save as type pull down menu it
still adds the .txt extension.
What am I doing wrong?
