beginning_php thread: Objects - any real benefit?

Message #1 by "Peter Simard" <peter@p...> on Thu, 27 Dec 2001 02:19:28
Ok, I've been fiddling with a number of classes, utility classes mostly,

connection etc.

It's apparent that the benefit reaped from using classes/objects is

modular and re-usable code, as with any OOP. But as the nature of PHP

script execution is temporary, over and above the utility classes and

sessions, why bother?

I've just spent several months learning JAVA where the OOP paradigm is

paramount, in PHP OOP just seems like a nice feature.

I'd love to hear people's thoughts on this.

Regards and Happy New Year,

Pete
