crystal_reports thread: Help for Oracle Procedure based Crystal Report

Message #1 by Purav Chovatia <purav@h...> on Tue, 18 Feb 2003 11:41:00 +0530
Hi this is Purav here. I would like to know that if a report is based
on a oracle procedure and if we change the procedure (say we increase
the no. of fields returned by the procedure) then do we have to
necessarily remove the procedure from the reoprt or just shutdown and
restart the report ? I am running crystal Report 8.0 and whenever I
change the procedure I have to remove the procedure from CR and again
add it using the Add Database option. The problem in doing so is that
some fields directly displayed on the report disappear and only formulas
are retained.

So is there anyway that I can mak a procedure and design a report based
on that procedure and whenever I need to make any changes in the
procedure, I can make it and then just refresh or regenerate the report.

Regards,
Purav

Hi Purav,

To reflect the changes of the data source (table, view or stored procedure).

1. Open the report
2. Select Verify Database from Database menu

Hope this help.

Michael
