csharptoday_discuss thread: Article idea (feedback please)

Message #1 by "Adam Ryland" <adamr@w...> on Wed, 14 Nov 2001 09:34:52
Good morning,

we have an article ready for editing which is about hand-coding web

service proxies. We editors could not decide whether this is the sort of

thing you guys would like to see, so we thought we'd open this up and let

you decide! Please reply and tell us whether you'd like us to publish this

or not.

While this sounds like a pretty good low level idea, unless there is very

strong justification for doing so, I wouldnt do it on my own. I guess I

dont see why anyone would not use the VS .NET generated proxies,

especially when the generated proxies do everything you'd ever want done !

I wouldn't read it - Vs.Net does a great job of creating a proxy class -

there are too many thing that Vs.Net doesn't do - let's start there.

Thanks for your replies. It is the sort of subject that we didn't think

was especially practical, but possibly of interest to developers to see

what goes on behind the scenes. We won't publish it then if noone is

interested!
