proasp_howto thread: open.window() alternative

Message #1 by "David Funk" <david@d...> on Fri, 10 Mar 2000 21:26:1
As long as you give the window a name, you can close it if you're the one
that opened it. In the open.window() function, the title is the parameter
right after the URL. Give it a unique name and you'll be able to close
it.

window.close(), I keep getting a prompt, "The Web page you are viewing is
trying to close the window. Do you want to close it? Yes or No".

Is there a way to get rid of the prompt, or better yet, is there script
that will allow me to hide the window ornaments without having to use
open.window()?

Any help would be appreciated.
