You should try to use stored procedures as much as you can. SQL Server
will compile the access plan to SP's making them much faster than views
and easier for SQL Server to execute.

For more information on SP's check the books on line (BOL).

Subject: [sql_server] Running a view from a view

I have moved some of my databases from Access to SQL Server 7.0. In
Access I ran many queries off of other queries. Should I basically do
the
same thing with views or is there a more efficient way. As I start
nesting views on top of other views they get slower & slower, especially
when I am querying against very large tables.

Any advice would be appreciated.
