Default performance tuning of asp.net web application

hi all,

I am not totally new but still beginner to asp.net. please advise me some performance tuning techniques for asp.net web application using sql server as backend. specially ecommerece applications.

this discussions will also be helpfull for each and every member of this forum. so please contribute your ideas.

well thanks for your advise and response but I thought that the members of asp.net professional group are different that asp.net beginners group. (as two groups are different) so I thought I can get the comments from beginners as well as professionals.
