Am new to ASP.net and have been working through a few beginner books to bring me up to speed. Recently, I starting working on ASP.NET 2.0 Web Parts -- not Sharepoint Web Parts -- and noticed that if I create a VS2k5 website project that uses "HTTP" my web parts are locked in Browse mode. If I create the same project but use the "Filesystem" everything works fine, i.e. I could switch display modes. Wondering if someone can help me understand why this would happen.

I checked out my system and my default website is using v2.0 and so is my vDir. Do I need to install Sharepoint on my local system.

Any Help would be appreciated.
