Visual Sourcesafe
Hi,
Can I use VSS 6.0 for VS .net 2005 Professional edition?
If i want to install Visual Sourcesafe 2005 where i get that s/w?
VSS folder is not present in VS .net 2005 Professional edition CD.
So i can't install from that cd.
Thanks in advance.

You can, and my company uses it but I don't like it very much. I have nothing but problems with VSS 6.0. I kind of hate it and would love a recommendation from someone for a much better product that integrates into VS 2003 and 2005.

We've been using Sourcegear's Vault for quite some time now: http://www.sourcegear.com/vault/index.html
It works really well, especially over (slower) internet or VPN connections. I think their tag line used to be:
For developers who are fed up with SourceSafe.
although they now changed it to:
For developers who are ready to migrate away from SourceSafe. ;)
It's free for a single user, so it's easy to try it out.

While typing this post, I was listening to: Sporen by Opgezwolle (Track 1 from the album: Vloeistof) What's This?
