Default IIS on Vista

Hi folks,

Time for a new computer with Vista on it. Anyone know off hand what versions of Vista IIS installs with, or if IIS still exists as IIS on Vista.

Thanks,

Bob

Hi Bob,

Yes, it's still there. It's called IIS 7 and shares a code base with IIS for Windows Server 2008. Finally, you can create multiple web sites on a single machine, so you're no longer restricted as you were with Windows XP and IIS 5.1.

I don't think IIS comes with all Vista flavors, but AFAIK, it comes with Home Premium and up.

Personally, I am very happy with IIS on Vista. I like the multi site feature and the way it's managed, plus a whole lot more.

Cheers,

Imar
