Default Deleting all the records in a table

Hai
I have a problem with my code 2 delete all the records in access table
i have used this code

Private Sub mnudel_Click()
DoCmd.SetWarnings False
DoCmd.RunSql "DELETE * FROM Register"
DoCmd.SetWarnings True
End Sub

But by executing this i get a
runtime error '424'
Object required
plz give a suggetion 2 cum out from this plz..

If this code is in VB, and you are trying to talk to an Access DB, you need to establish a proper connection to the Access DB, and DoCmd will not be available to you. (DoCmd is specifically an Access command; you need to be running code that is contained in Access, with Access active as the host for that code for that statement to run. This statement is one of the ways that Access talks to itself. "Others" cannot talk to Access this way.)
