Default Wrox CMS - Altering the menu controls

Hi there,

An absolute newbie to ASP.net 2 and SQL - I'm in the process of altering / expanding upon the Wrox CMS example to provide various other bits of functionality. However, of all things, I'm completely stumped by the menu controls! What I woudl like to do is actually 'split' the sdsSubMenu off into a separate area of my page. However I'm having little success at this and my relative ignorance of ASP.net is frustrating me! Can anyone help at all? I've tried creating a new repeater control for the submenu in a separate new control and using an onclick event to toggle .visible - but it no workie!

Thanks for any help!

Can you define " I'm having little success" and "but it no workie"? Those are a bit too vague for me to to provide you with any useful help.

What doesn't work? Do you get an error? Is the control not appearing? Are you having an issue with the client side toggle code etc etc?

If you provide detailed information of your problem, I may be able to suggest something useful.

Cheers,

Imar

Hi there Imar,

I actually managed to figure it out - I had an issue whereby the submenu was not displaying correctly within my page.

However this was my own stupid fault, I had not correctly databound the submenu to the data source, resulting in no menu being displayed - doh!

Apologies for my vagueness - as I'm still learning (and your book is invaluable in its approach) I was not particularly great at explaining either ;)
