Smile updating items in form view

Hello friends,
Can any one tell about how to update items using form view.
I am working on webshop. And having problem while updating item in addproduct.aspx
Can any body tell how to get the product updated. Will I have to write the function as for item inserting and item deleting in ShopManagerDB.
Please help me regarding this. I am not able to solve it on my own. I have tried it so much and also used different contol DetailsView , but nothing seems useful.
So any kind of help is most appreciated.........

Hi there,

This is a bit too much for me to answer here. First of all, you seem to be using a modified version of the application which makes it difficult to see what you have. In addition, you don't have the book which makes it impossible to refer you to other relevant chapters.

Try posting this in one of the general ASP.NET forums here: http://p2p.wrox.com/asp-net-2-0-437/. Others will be able to reply to your question. If you post there, be sure to provide lots of relevant information and if possible code. Book related forums tend to atract less attention.

Cheers,

Imar

Smile

Sir, I do have book.
And I found form view in conjuction with grid view in chapter 5
But can you tell where I find it the same scenario that is updating items with form view and using objectdata source.
Well I tried the example with details view but the image field is getting problem. I was using it with sqlserver.
So can you specify particular application in book which is dealing with updating items and using Objectdatasource. I just want a hint over the topic.
Thank you and keep smiling.

Have you considered looking in the book's index? Take a look under the F in the Index and look for the FormView. There you see what chapter uses the FormView so you can look up its explanation and code.

Cheers,

Imar
