I have discovered my Beginning Access 2000 VBA CD has become broken. I have had to re-install my computer but need to install Ice Cream database. Does any have a copy that can be e-mailed to me or is there some where in which i can download the files so i can continue my learning. Great book, if i can just finish my learning i will be more than happy.
Hi,
I will be more than happy to send you a replacement. Please forward me your address including country and postal code, phone number, and ISBN number located on the back cover right above the bar code. You may send the requset to me via email: jdtaylor@wiley.com
I'm not sure if my situation is related to the broken CD that Andrew has posted about or errata, but the CD that was packaged with my book doesn't seem to contain any of the partially completed Ice Cream databases that are referenced by the authors. See "Try It Out" section on page 29. It would really help me out if I could get a copy of these databases.
I believe I am also facing the same problem as Joey. I can't find the partially completed databases in the CD. In the "start" IceCream database, I can't find the form frmCriteria. I am stuck at Chapter 7.
Also the web page(www.p2p.wrox.com/exercises) for the solutions to the exercises cannot be found.
I too have discovered that the 2002 edition does not come with chapter solution files, but the text still refers to them. The new version is not terribly different from the 2000 version; you should be able to download the files from the 2000 version and get close to what you need for chapter 7 files.

Please make sure that you have the revised copy of the book. If you are unsure the current ISBN starts with 07645. If you do have the current book and you still cannot find the code on the CD, I will be more than happy to send you a replacement. Please forward me your address including country and postal code, phone number, and ISBN number located on the back cover right above the bar code. You may send the request to me via email: jdtaylor@wiley.com
Anyone looking for the Ice Cream Database should know that the database is not complete. The database only has the beginning and the end. You are suppose to create the middle as you go. There will be no need for a CD replacement because all of the CDs are done the same.
isdn 0-7645-4383-0 Frmcompany is requested on page 48, there is no frmcompany in the ice cream database. On page 76 frmcompany is again referenced but it does not exist. If you look at the chapters it is in chapter 2, but not in chapter 1. The book does not create the frmcompany in any chapter but does reference it. This causes almost everything after this to not function properly. page 166 gives instructions to create 1stReports, when I attempt this the 1 is separated from the rest of the word and doesn't work. Page 171 I created the dynamic list box but it did not run. I looked at the solutions database and tried their Preview and Print buttons on the frmreport and they didn't work either. I am using office 2000 access version. Do I need the developer version?
Wiley has just acquired this title from Wrox Press. Unfortunately, the file in question is not listed on CD and we are in the process of obtaining the file or files from the original author.
In the meantime, I advice you to work directly with the original file "icecream.mdb". Sorry for the inconvenience.
