Running through the Try It Out exercises in Ch 6, I'm hitting a bit of a snag on the last one. When working from the version 5 of the downloaded FLA's, I made the changes required, but then it just flat wouldn't work. Actually, that's not true, it does work SORTA, in that some of the info appears on the screen, but it's all skewed and freaky. I tried cutting and pasting the code from the final version into the "portfolio.as" for version 5, and it still didn't work, so I have to assume that there's something going on with the FLA file. The only things I did to it were to delete the indicated layers, delete the indicated frames, then make sure all the screen movie clips were set to "Export for ActionScript". Maybe I missed something else, or maybe I need to work all the way through it from the original file rather than skipping to version 5, but considering the number of typos and errors in this book, I'm wondering if anyone else is having this problem. Setting projects like this up is a pretty important skill to have.
