Is my mac broke?

Hello, I have myself a powerbook G4 (which i'm guessing makes no difference) and when I try a simple script (from out of the book) to click a menu bar item I get a NSReceiverEvaluationScriptError: 4

I'm also trying to build an application in studio but I get a similar message in that when I try other commands. Does any know anything because I've looked on the apple site for any known problems but nothing is mentioned.
