Default MyTelephone.exe

Hi,

I am new to this ASP stuff and started studying this book (wrox) recently. There was already a message posted in this community regarding "MyTelephone.exe" file not being available in this web site. I am facing the same problem too...and also I think that the link given in the earlier replies to download that file is completely dead...and the zip file which is supposed to be containing the required file (MyTelephone.exe) cannot be downloaded from that link at alllllll....
can ne one let me know where can I find this file???

Thanks in advance.

Rgds,
Srikanth

Hey Srikanth,

I don't have that book, may be you can post that URL that has the zip file for download, so that one can try and see if that is not downloadable at all. May be you have problems with your net connection for not having that downloaded.

Cheers!

Hi there,

I said, "I don't have that book", coz I was not sure about which chapter this MyTelePhone.exe is related with. I didn't mean that you could post the link to donwload the book. Actually, no one would provide a link to download thier book as such;). And I don't really expect WROX doing that for thier kind of books.

Sorry, I made a search as you said and could see nothing related to that. May be you could have posted that link with your previous post if you had that with you, than expecting someone to search on that.

But I found that along with Chapter 6 code there. Did not find any problem in downloading that too. You can go to this page Beginning Active Server Pages 3.0 and download the Chapter 6 Code which has this EXE in it.

Or use this direct link to download that. Download source code for Chapter 6 examples

Cheers!

Hi,

Thank you very much for your prompt reply buddy....thanks for all the links....now that I have downloaded the example...I can move forward....and I just wanted to make myself very much clear about what I was looking for :) ......anywz......I don't expect Wrox to provide that kinda link to download their e-books tooooo....if at all they exist.....

Hey, I have another question......

Is that okay if I study ASP and ASP.net together???........do they have any similarities.....so that I can digest the concept with out confusing myself ??

Thanks for all your prompt replies.....pal...

You've been great......

Rgds,

Srikanth

I am not good at ASP.net yet, just started to be the beginner. I would say it is neccesary to have some working knowledge on ASP before taking off with ASP.net that way you wouldn't get confused than learning them together. But IMO it would be a little difficult for one to learn ASP.net straight away, without having ASP knowledge. But you may get different opinion on this from different people here. But I believe, one can learn anything if he has the need and instinct to learn. Hope I have (not) confused you a lot;).

Cheers!
