Default Ch11 AdRotator Windows Vista Home Premium

I have been required to learn Classic ASP for use with Windows Vista Home Premium. I am unable to find a definitive source to tell me that this Windows version can not support the AdRotator functions. When I "Try It Out", here's what happens:

Ad rotator home page

Programmer's tip:
When writing a loop always double check which commands
should be inside the loop and which should be outside the loop.

Server objecterror 'ASP 0177 : 800401f3'
Server.CreateObject Failed
/BegASPFiles/AdRotatorHomePage.asp, line 12
800401f3

Can anybody help?
Please?
Ande

Default Adrotator component is not included in Vista!

Hi Ande, The Adrotator component is part of MSWC project and it doesn't come with IIS 7 and the ASP that is with IIS 7. I am learning Classic ASP myself and wanted to use the counter feature but discovered that I had to create a text file to hold the counter number as the MSWC doesn't work on the Vista and later OS's! There must be an alternative but I don't know what it is. Sorry!
