Default Can I use 2008 software

I can no longer locate the 2005 Versions of SQL Server Express and Visual Web Developer so I downloaded the 2008 versions (and I am hacking).

My question is: Is it possible to interpret the instructions in this book (which are geared toward 2005 and XP) and get to the point where I can follow along using the '08 software running on Windows Vista. To this point I have had little success but as long as I know it is possible I'll continue.

Thanks,
Shane

Hi there,

I don't have the book so I can't tell for sure, but I think you can follow along with most of it. Many features from 2005 are still present in 2008 so with a bit of adventurous discovery every now and then I think you should be able to follow along just fine.

Alternatively, you can take a look at my Beginning ASP.NET 3.5 which targets Visual Web Developer 2008: http://www.wrox.com/WileyCDA/WroxTit...47018759X.html

Cheers,

Imar
