Default IIS Error

I am new to asp.net 3.5, i tried to open my localhost to see the default.aspx file in chapter one,see what i get

TTP Error 500.19 - Internal Server Error
The requested page cannot be accessed because the related configuration data for the page is invalid.

Where does this error come from? Do you have this in your local web.config file? Or are you running this through a full instance of IIS?

I haven't seen this particular error before, but others have: https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q...ectionGroup%22

The error came from my local host when i put the source file into the folder.i am using windows 7

Did you try opening the site as explained in the book and run it through the built-in server? Did that work?

Did any of the articles from the Google link help?

You'll need to provide a lot more information. For example. what does "the source file into the folder" mean? Which source into which folder? Did that folder already have a web.config with the code that's crashing?

Without more information, I can't help much.
