Default Question on How to Complete SQL Database Exercise with Visual Studio 2013 Professiona

All:
I have Visual Studio 2013 and SQL2012 Enterprise. I have found Beginning ASP.Net 4 with VB and C# very good. However, I am unable to use the sample database to work with the exercises for the SQL portion. How do I adapt the database for use with Visual studio 2013 and SQL 2012? Any help would be appreciated.

Hi there,

I would recommend installing SQL Server Express (which you can install side by side with Enterprise).

Also, be prepared for lots of other differences between VS 2013 and 2010. You could either get an updated version of the book, or install 2010 side by side to follow along with the exercises an then use 2013 for your own projects.

Cheers,

Imar
