Page 252 can't find tag editor
DM MX2004
Page 252 Confused as to the location of “tag editor”. Book says Click the Text Field button on the insert tool bar. In the tag editor – Input dialog box, make sure that Type is set to Text and give the text field a name of txtValue. I have opened the bar just below the menu bar clicked to text. The fist symbol is “font tag editor” but this does not have a type so I am in the wrong location. I can see no “tag Editor”
Any guidance gratefully received.

Hi Jacky,
If you're in Code View and add a text box, the Tag Editor appears automatically.
If you're in Design View, the text box is just added to the page. In that case, select the text box and press Ctrl + F5 to bring up the Tag Editor.

Hi Imar
Goo to hear from you.
I still don't get it.
I can not see Tag editor I see Tag editor Font when I click on text in the drop down list and then the fisrt button which is Tag editor Font..
I also can not remember being asked to add a text box before in the book. If I am wrong please tell me where and I will go back to that part to see what you mean.

That's the instruction to insert a text box, isn't it?
Maybe you misunderstood that part and are now trying to bring up the TE for other tags?

I am not sure where the insert tool bar is. Referring to pg 26 where screen parts are given names there is no Insert tool bar. So I am assuming that it is the bar which sits below the Menu bar and is made visible using view/toolbars/insert.
Am I correct in this to begin with?
If I am then the first symbol is two As and a Greek sign and is called Font Tag Editor
Is this the correct direction.

Yes, it is. However, the Insert bar has a few views. Right before the Font Tag Editor icon you see Text and arrow pointing down. Click the text or the arrow and a menu appears. Choose Forms to put the Insert bar in Forms mode.
The second icon from the left is used to insert a text field. Step two on page 252 says to open the Forms category of the Insert bar.
Chapter 6 (page 198) introduces the Forms category of the Insert bar while the Insert Panel itself is introduced on page 28.

Got it
I had been going back to the main drop down, selecting text and then looking for the text box.
Thanks again and
All the Best
