Problems with downloading
Hi
I downloaded the book "Beginning Linux Programming" from the "Download code" area of this website. It downloaded as 544977.tgz. On clicking, it changed to 544977-blp3e. On further clicking it showed folders for different chapters. On clicking again on chapter 1, there were files named program.c, hello.c, fred.c and bill.c in notepad and on file lib.h which on clicking asked to select a program to open it.
I wanted to download the book but I got all this. Please help me as this book is prescribed in the syllabus and is very costly to buy.

What you have downloaded are the code samples that accompany the book. This is not a free book warez site, this is the home of the publisher that invests a lot of money to create these books so that you can buy them. Perhaps rather than looking for somewhere free to download the book, you can find another student in your class to share the cost of a book with. Or even buying a used copy from an online reseller (I just found one for under $10) would be better than discussing finding it free.
Thanks. Good luck with your classes.
