Default

MySQL 5 (and 5.1) supports some new features like views, table partitioning, triggers, stored procedures, and many small enhancements and additions.

For the most typical use of MySQL, you will not need these new functionalities.

The book is based on MySQL 4, with a very minimal explanation of what's new in version 5.
