Default Microsoft SQL

I am having difficulty getting a copy of Microsoft SQL for the lessons in the book. The site page from the book says the download is not available.

Are there any other avenues to download the application.

Sure. For the 120 day eval version of SQL Server 2000:

For the current version of SQL Server 2005 Express Edition (April "Community Technology Preview" which is like a beta but not promised to be as stable as a beta):
