Default client/server

Hi everyone, i want to develop a client server app in which some clients get connected with server and server wants to send some data to a particular client based on his Ip address. i cant find any function, can anyone help me out. i am using VB.NET. thanx i advance

You have several choices. You can use TCP or UDP programming but both of these methods require the client and server to remain connected consuming network resources.

The alternative is to use a Web Service and have the client call a method in the Web Service on a periodic schedule checking for new data.
